Three days after a short teaser debuted online showing Keanu Reeves’ animal-loving hitman-turned-vigilante getting all dolled up for the social event of the professional killer’s year, an expanded trailer for John Wick: Chapter 2 premiered this afternoon at New York Comic Con. Clocking in at a minute and 47 seconds, the kinetic, gorgeously shot trailer builds on the previously-released teaser, sending our hero on an intercontinental rampage spanning from New York to Rome (and potentially points beyond).
The trailer was revealed during a panel about the film, where Reeves explained that the sequel reveals “a little more” about John Wick’s backstory while also deepening the mythology behind exclusive killer-for-hire hotel The Continental, including a sinister-sounding subgroup called “The High Table.” Laurence Fishburne (Matrix reunion alert!) and Ian McShane, both of whom show up in the new trailer, co-star.
A pretty badass international poster for the film was also revealed earlier today; you can see that below. John Wick: Chapter 2 premieres in theaters on February 20, 2017.
