Lately, war movies have been less about how cool war is and more about how much war can fuck you up. This trailer for Thank You For Your Service makes it clear that it’s definitely the latter kind of war movie, with Miles Teller’s soldier returning from combat with what appears to be a significant case of PTSD. Rather than a story about one guy’s experience, though, Thank You For Your Service seems like it will touch on larger points about how people deal with PTSD and the ways that the government occasionally abandons veterans.

The film was directed by Jason Hall, and it will be in theaters on October 27.
