In his career as a performance artist, Shia LaBeouf is currently driving around North America at the mercy of anyone who wants to pick him up. But if you’re interested in the experience of road tripping with LaBeouf without actually being in a car with him, here’s the trailer for Andrea Arnold’s American Honey. The rabble-rousing actor and his rat-tail star in the movie, which follows a group of transient youngsters who sell magazine subscriptions; there’s also plenty of mischief, booze, and hormones. Sasha Lane makes her debut as the neophyte in the group, and The Girlfriend Experience’s Riley Keough plays the old pro in the Confederate Flag bikini.

The film won the Jury Prize at Cannes, though The A.V. Club had a more tepid response: “It works best as a rowdy ensemble piece—sort of a co-ed, mobile, present-day version of Richard Linklater’s Everybody Wants Some!, examining the frayed bonds created among newly formed adults with few responsibilities and a dynamic torn between loyalty and rivalry.” Arnold’s Fish Tank also focused on youth with big dreams and little means, but took place in her native Britain.

American Honey is set to be released later this year.
