Those crazy Saturday Night Live kids will do anything to support each other. Just ask Seth Meyers, whose talk show is regularly peppered with guests and his pals from the show.
Now SNL head writer and “Weekend Update” anchor Colin Jost is harvesting that same kind of support for his new Netflix movie Staten Island Summer. Out on the service July 31 and produced by—surprise, surprise—Lorne Michaels, Staten Island Summer features cameos from SNL stars Kate McKinnon, Fred Armisen, Bobby Moynihan, Cecily Strong, Mike O’Brien, and Will Forte, among others. They’ll help tell the story of two recent high school graduates working as lifeguards while trying—as young, virile lifeguards do—to get laid. Played by The Good Wife’s Graham Phillips and The Inbetweeners’ Zack Pearlman, the dudes flirt with girls, deal with weird locals, and try to skirt their parents, all while planning that big end-of-summer blowout that’s basically mandatory in these kinds of films.
Staten Island Summer also stars Kate Walsh, Ashley Greene, Graham Phillips, Jim Gaffigan, Gina Gershon, Method Man, John Deluka, and Mary Birdsong.
