All it takes is two minutes in one bad day for you to watch the first trailer for Warner Bros’ animated—and R-rated, natch—Batman: The Killing Joke movie. The graphic-novel adaptation reunites Kevin Conroy and Mark Hamill as Batman and the Joker, with Tara Strong also returning to voice Barbara Gordon/Batgirl, who catches the brunt of their reignited feud. The trailer opens with the Joker in Arkham, all glowing eyes and maniacal laughter, presumably because the work-release program is so flexible. As Batman’s voiceover ponders just how their battle will end, we see snippets of the Joker’s revenge plot most foul that will test the Caped Crusader and Commissioner Gordon’s (Ray Wise) moral code.
Batman: The Killing Joke is set to premiere at Comic-Con in July, with release on Blu-ray, DVD, and digital HD sometime later this year.
