Although his live-action counterpart is having a rough go of it with critics, people are still jazzed about the upcoming Lego version of The Dark Knight. Will Arnett’s Batman, with his hyper-seriousness and undeserved cockiness, was a huge part of the appeal of The Lego Movie. Now the caped crusader is branching on his own in the appropriately titled The Lego Batman Movie, where director Chris McKay will explore the DC Comics corner of the Legoverse as Batman hangs out with superfriends and enjoys some tasty food left for him by Alfred.
In addition to Arnett, the supporting cast is a veritable rogue’s gallery, with Michael Cera as Robin, Zach Galifianakis as The Joker, Rosario Dawson as Batgirl, Ralph Fiennes as Alfred Pennyworth, and Mariah Carey as Mayor Marion Grange.
The Lego Batman Movie will be released in February 2017.
