Writer-director Ike Barinholtz’s debut, The Oath, is an ambitious black comedy that aims to tackle the rancor of the Trump era. The film centers on a Thanksgiving dinner gone extremely wrong, as a family of six clash over a newly announced loyalty oath that the White House is encouraging citizens to sign. Before the film’s premiere, we sat down with stars Meredith Hagner and Jon Barinholtz (Ike Barinholtz’s brother) to talk about The Oath and their feelings about the future.
