He’s fought wrestlers, aliens, and the enduring legacy of his former moniker, so the next logical step for Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson is to take on an actual force of nature. Hence San Andreas, the latest in Hollywood’s seemingly unending fascination with blowing itself up. Just witness the majestically tumbling Hollywood sign in this first official teaser trailer, in which Johnson plays Ray, a search-and-rescue pilot who has his work cut out for him when California suffers an enormous earthquake. He travels with his estranged wife to rescue their only daughter, who’s seemingly trapped after the earth comes apart at the San Andreas fault. But this isn’t just any old earthquake. As Paul Giamatti’s character helpfully states, this one is so big, “you will feel it on the East Coast.” Consider yourself warned, New Yorkers. Along with Giamatti and Johnson, the film co-stars Alexandra Daddario, Carla Gugino, Colton Haynes, Archie Panjabi, and Ioan Gruffudd. San Andreas comes out May 29, 2015.
