Indie drama The Surface puts Sean Astin’s Mitch in the same broken-down boat as Kelly (character actor Chris Mulkey), a plane crash survivor with precious cargo that has made them both the target of some dangerous men. Filmed on location on the waters of Lake Michigan, The Surface hopes to take the tensions of the single-setting thriller to new depths. The film hits shelves on September 1, and The A.V.
